Chicago Style "Pay For Play" Goes to Washington

For those of us that have questioned how Chicago does politics, we need to look no further than Washington DC.  More specifically, we need to look at the Washington Post.  We already know that the mainstream media is in the bag for Obama, but now it's for sale

The Washington Post is selling "opportunities" to talk to lobbyists and Obama administration representitives "off the record".  Off the record in media parlance means that whatever is said cannot be reported.  Therefore, anyone paying between $25,000 - $250,000 will have unfettered access to those that decide policy in the White House and in Congress.  These meetings were to take place at Kathraine Weymouth - the CEO and Publisher of the Washington Post!!!

You pay money and you get to play - with noone reporting what is going on!  How is this different from what Blago is currently in trouble for?

A healthcare lobbyist leaked the memo detailing the "pay for play" scheme.  What will come of this revelation?  Other than the event has now been canceled, probably nothing.  No investigation for impropriaties by the newspaper, and definately no investigation into which Obama administration officials were planning on attending.  What happened to limiting lobbyist participation in government that Obama promised during the campaign??
