Excuses, Excuses...
The NY Times reported that Obama while in Moscow had trouble remembering his daughter's age, how he met Michele and remembering what government position Vladamir Putin held. He had trouble pronouncing President Medvedev's name several times. Did the reporter or the NY Times allude to the slip ups to a lack of mental prowess or did they highlight other speaking blunders? No.
Obama was tired was the explanation given in the article.
Head of State/Government to Head of State/Government meetings are rare and all available time should be used to hammer out deals, set up guidelines on future deals, and smooth over relations. Instead, Obama decided to take a mini-break by partying at the O2 lounge in Moscow instead of dining with Moscow officials. He did the same thing to President Sarkozy when he was in France. But no reports of the snubs outside of the excuses made for our President.
Why didn't he dine with the Moscow government officials? He wanted some "down time" before his trip to Italy.
By the way, Michele visited an orphanage without the Obama children. If you're visiting children and you took your children on your diplomatic trip, I would think you would like them to experience the world by meeting people in the country you are visiting. Instead, they stayed back to "make dolls" with their grandmother.
Riddle me this: If Sarah Palin had ethics charges brought against her for using state funds to shuttle her family around Alaska, why is it that Obama doesn't get the same treatment for bringing his entire family on an official state visit? Or when Michele stayed behind in France to do some shopping which required her to take a separate flight home at the taxpayer's expense?
Now, Bush wasn't the greatest speaker and he certainly wasn't the greatest when dealing with other Head of State/Government, but Obama's isolation of our allies in Europe and the snubbing of Russia (who are already weary of us) gets little to no press. If this bumbling would have happened 2 years ago, the US media would have jumped all over Bush for the same inexperienced moves our current President has done.
The mainstream media is a joke.
