We here at downstateiladvocate appreciate the time you take out of your day to visit our site.  We hope our articles stimulate your passion for what is going on in our world, our state, and our small corner of Illinois. 

We are going to be taking a small break from the rigors of the world and heading down to Tennessee for a week.  We will try to continue to post articles as it pertains to our lives but we may not be able to post as often as we would like.  For instance, we usually continue to post 7 days a week, a couple times a day, but this weekend has been very busy and we leave tomorrow.

Check back here for updates, and maybe a few photos may also find their way on here.  I can't wait to try out my new Nike SQ Dymo driver!!!!!  It's going to be great because this week is the first time in many moons that the family has all been able to get together considering they are spread out all over the country.  It will also be nice to see my future step-son again before he heads off to Afghanistan in September. 

When we get back, we'll see you while we walk in the Effingham County Fair parade and man the GOP booth during the fair.  If you see us, come up and say hello!!!
