VWs Everywhere!

I'm driving with our son yesterday down Keller Drive and he sees a modified VW bug drive past us.  Then another.  And another.  And then a whole bunch more.  He looks at me and says "what's with all the small cool cars?".  I told him it VW Fest time in Effingham.

The VW Fest doesn't get the publicity that the Corvette Fest gets later in the year, but it's still awesome to see all the Bugs, VW vans, and other VWs around town this weekend.

Mike Yager over at Mid America Motorworks is the definition of the American businessman story.  He started his business selling T-shirts out of the trunk of his car at car shows and now has built a company that is the largest after-market Corvette parts dealer in the United States.  I'm not sure where they rank up there with VW parts, but his company continues to expand, employs a local workforce, and brings thousands of people to Effingham throughout the year.

If you have never been to the Corvette Museum at Mid-America, you should.  Some of the vehicles Yager has in there are just beautiful and even priceless.

So if you see a Bug this weekend, give them a wave and welcome them to Effingham!
