America: Land Of The Fr**

Today, a federal judge struck down the Arizona law seeking to clamp down on illegal immigration.  So as it stands now, we have a federal government that will not enforce existing law, will not force sanctuary cities/states to enforce the same unenforced laws, and will sue anybody that attempts to enforce federal law when the federal government deems such law(s) as inconvenient to their ideological and political agendas.

We are getting closer and closer to implementing the United Nations "International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Their Members of Their Families".  What in the world is this you might ask?  Passed by the UN in 1990 and signed by some of our Latin American neighbors to the south, it basically gives "rights" to migrant workers.  Notice how progressives call illegal immigrants "migrant workers"?  That's not a coincidence.  Go back and read part of this Convention, in particular, Articles 16, 22, especially 26, 30, 39, especially 40, 43, and various others.

Here in Illinois, illegals have almost the same rights as Illinois residents only they can't have driver's licenses and can't vote.  They get state benefits and can attend universities paying resident tuition, not out-of-state tuition and every other right we have as Illinois residents as well.

As SB 1070 makes its way through the court system, I have a few questions for those men and women representing us in DC and Springfield:

Who will step up and introduce a federal version of SB 1070?  Who will step up and introduce federal legislation requiring sanctuary cities and states to comply with federal law or risk losing all federal funding or risk imprisonment for those civil leaders who refuse to enforce laws?

Who will step up in Springfield to repeal the National Popular Vote Act?  Didn't know Illinois passed this law that gives away your voting rights?  To sum up, if enough states pass the National Popular Vote Act equaling 270 Electoral College votes, then this law goes into effect that gives all the Electoral College votes to the Presidential candidate that wins the "national popular vote", regardless of how your state voted.  They passed this liberty stealing law during the 95th General Assembly.  Read it for yourself

Who will step up and really reform Social Security?  Washington has been raiding this "trust fund" for quite sometime and it's broke.  Now there is talk of raising eligibility age of Social Security to 70?  The United States life expectancy average is 78.24 years.  Work 62 years to get about 8 years worth of checks.  Sounds like a deal, sign me up!   What a joke.  If the power that be keep increasing the age limit, why not just raise it to 80 years old instead of jumping through the hoops each election year?  If we are going to go that far, then maybe the program should be scraped and something else put in its place that the politicians can't raid when their allowances (taxes) run out.

Who will step up and refuse to allow any more deficit spending in Illinois or DC?  $13 trillion in US debt.  Billions in unfunded mandates and liabilities on the state and millions in liabilities on the local level.

Who will step up and make them do these things?  Who will make sure we put people in office that will do these things?  The answer is simple.  YouYou must write and call your member of Congress.  You must write and call your elected state officials.  You must attend your city council and county board meetings and make your local officials answerable for their actions.  How?  Vote.  Get behind candidates that hold your values and attend their fundraisers, walk precincts, make phone calls, distribute campaign literature, put up campaign signs, and then vote.  I'm tired of hearing people complain about who got elected, but they didn't vote.  I'm tired of hearing people complain about politicians ignoring them, but writing or calling once, twice or three times is not enough (if they ever do it at all).  We blame others, but we have nobody to blame but ourselves.  Remember, your silence is their consent.  Remember November ....Vote November 2nd - your country as you knew it depends on you.

I just found out about the National Popular Vote Act (now law) the other day. I am going to talk about it Friday morning on William's show (at 6:40). I like how it passed the House as a bill to let high school juniors be election judges then gets completely blown away and turned into this by Senate amendment co-sponsored by Jim Edgar's former chief of staff (and star of Barack Obama campaign commercials) Kirk Dullard!
