Rep. Shimkus Votes With President Obama Again

I feel like a stuck record.  Rep. Shimkus supports PLAs, Rep. Shimkus supports PLAs, Rep. Shimkus supports PLAs.  I was told that "he has heard us".  But when Rep. Shimkus' opportunity to finally came to take a stand once and for all.....he decides to "not vote".

You can read another take at Redstate.com today.

The Military Construction bill was voted out of committee with language inserted into the bill that would overturn Executive Order 13502 - aka, requirement of PLAs on federal contracts.  Each and every time that an amendment has been offered to overturn this Executive Order, Rep. Shimkus has voted with President Obama.

As the MilCon bill reached the floor of the House for final approval, and as I predicted, there was an amendment offered to strip the anti-PLA language out of the final bill.  After the votes were cast, the amendment PASSED 204-203.  How did Rep. Shimkus vote?  HE DIDN'T!  So if our "conservative" Congressman Shimkus would have voted NO, then the amendment would have tied 204-204 thereby failing the amendment and leaving the anti-PLA language in the overall MilCon bill.  Sure, there were 27 other Republicans voting with President Obama, but I only care about the ONE THAT REPRESENTS US - REP. SHIMKUS!!!

So once again, Rep. Shimkus sides with the labor unions, Democrats, and President Obama to continue the anti-business policies of the administration.  Rep. Shimkus could have shown that he had "heard us loud and clear", but instead, Rep. Shimkus decided to essentially punt.

Unfortunately, it's the economy is like being 4th Down and 20 to go and you and I can't afford to punt like Rep. Shimkus has done.

As we wrote here a few weeks ago, we would not accept anything less than a NO vote, anything else would be considered voting in favor of President Obama and PLAs.  In fact, I specifically noted that a "not-voting" would be considered support of PLAs.

I urge you to call Rep. Shimkus' office at 202-225-5271 and let him know that you are not happy with his continued support of PLAs.  If you see Congressman Shimkus around his district, please let him know personally that you disagree with his continued support of President Obama and President Obama's minions - the labor unions.
